ECHA Weekly – 24 August 2022
The latest ECHA Newsletter is now available. This week, ECHA announced the EU Commission requested to collect information on the potential risk to human health and the environment from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) additives and PVC itself. Results are expected by May 2023.
In addition, ECHA published a new report on Brominated Phthalates, see below: https://echa.europa.eu/documents/10162/3448017/GMT_291_BrominatedPhthalates_report_public_25270_en.pdf/13e6c6b3-de10-bf4d-f6b3-1707a8dc2243?t=1660719023716&utm_source=echa-weekly&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=weekly&utm_content=20220824
The Agency also informed that, since a high number of authorization applications are expected for hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) uses in the coming years, information sessions for groups of applicants will be organized instead of individual sessions. The individual sessions already booked will be maintained.
ECHA added it is currently looking for comments (deadline set on 21 October 2022) on harmonized classification and labelling proposals for penconazole (ISO); 1-[2-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)pentyl]-1H-1,2,4-triazole (EC 266-275-6, CAS 66246-88-6). The aim is to gather new scientific information on uses, exposure, health effects, toxicology, epidemiology and modes of action of these substances.
