Unpublished Pharmaceutical Data Now Available
ECHA has agreed to provide previously unpublished data collected by the pharmaceutical industry on 19 chemical substances from 153 tests to develop medicines. The data is now publicly available and downloadable from the IUCLID website (https://iuclid6.echa.europa.eu/data-contribution). This initiative is open to any company and calls for more sharing of data. In the long run, it can be beneficial to develop and promote alternative test methods to replace animal testing.
It is the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) that manages this project. The EFPIA represents the biopharmaceutical industry operating in Europe.
